Slice of Life: Day 1 - Come What May #SOL22

Slice of Life: Day 1 - Come What May #SOL22

Come What May

I roll over to see the sun still asleep

The house is quiet in the early morning hours

There is time to fall back into my dream

Before the alarm sounds

I sink back into my pillow inviting sleep to take over

A different alarm plays in my heart

Sweet melody beckoning me

Predicable beat reminding me

Comforting rhythm ushering me towards what I need

Fingers hit the keyboard

Heart remembers

I am where I need to be

I will find a way

I will find my way

Come what may

When my mom passed away six years ago many people told me that she would talk to me, visit me, give me advice.  You have to look for the signs.  You have to be open to hearing her voice. You have to see and hear the signs.  It’s funny how slices of life pop up later in one’s memory and then completely make sense.  Thanks Mom, for the sign … come what may.  This will be a slice for another day.

Thank you, Betsy, Beth, Deb, Kathleen, Lanny, Melanie, and Stacey for this weekly forum. Check out the writers, readers, and teachers here.
