I LOVE how kids in my neighborhood discovered meaningful ways to connect while #socialdistancing. This meets state standards, considers audience, asks for response, and makes our world a better place. I did it three times today.

I think if we get out of their way and let them be a bit bored, they will come up with great ways to use all they know to impact their community. Give your kids a piece of chalk, or whatever it is that engages them, and send them on their way! Our current situation is a great opportunity for us to allow our kids to have agency and direct how they want to express themselves as readers and writers. Thinking of so many ways educators, parents, families, and caregivers could add some fun to their day with an idea like this one!

Thank you, Stacey, Beth, Betsy, Kathleen, Melanie, Lanny, Kelsey, Marina, Amy, and Therapi for hosting this weekly forum and the March Challenge. Check out the writers, readers, and teachers here.
